Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Earn And Learn Scheme

Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune in memory of Karmaveer Bhaurao patil has started Earn and Learn Scheme. The scheme has proved to be beneficial to economically weaker students. The students, who could not continue their higher studies due to financial incapability, get a chance to study. The scheme is sponsored by university who provide 90% share of the total expenditure on this scheme and 10% share is born by the college. The college conducts an interview of the Students who have applied for the scheme. A committee of Board of student Development scrutinizes the applications and verifies the financial and educational situation of the students. After the selection of the student in this scheme they are provided both official and field work in various departments of the college. The per hour remuneration of the work is Rs. 45. They are allowed to work for two hours a day. Means a regular student can earn Rs. 90 a day while learning. This remuneration is transferred directly to the account of students through Board of student development.

During the academic year 2018-19 the college has successfully implemented the Earn while Learn Scheme. There were 39 students who worked at library, departments, office as well as gardens, CIDA (Chhatrapati Institute of Defense Academy) Botanical Garden etc. The total expenditure for the year 2018- 19 is 2,33,955. The amount is audited in the central Audit camp organized by the university at the end of every academic year. The scheme has been the pioneering medium that motors all round development of the students as well as enable them continue with the studies which otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
