Introduction

Ahmednagar Jilha Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj founded New Arts, Commerce and Science College in the year 1978 to provide quality education to Jayakwadi Dam project affected masses of the vicinity. Since then, it has grown into a holistic multidisciplinary institution.

  • To make students responsible citizens.

In order to realize its vision, all possible efforts are taken by the college. The college sees to it that the holistic development of student is achieved through providing multidisciplinary, all inclusive, affordable quality education. It has been our endeavour to provide empowering learning opportunities and nurture scientific inquisitiveness, research aptitude, and social commitment among students. College feels it its duty to make all round development of students’ personality and make them responsible citizens. Its governance and leadership is in tandem with institution’s vision and mission. Institution is governed by various bodies at different level, which reflects its decentralized and participative governance. Following committees are a testimony to this statement.

  4. To provide physical facilities to the faculty to develop E-content in teaching and Learning.
  5. To provide advanced learning resources to faculty in order to update their knowledge and make teaching learning experience enjoyable.
  6. To implement transparent feedback system which help would improve services and facilities provided in the college.
  7. To implement transparent assessment and evaluation system for maintaining the standards of examination.
  8. Assure and monitor  quality governance in institution through Governing Council and IQAC.
  9. To organize seminars, workshops, webinars and quality enhancement activities for the student to enhance their capacities.
  10. Prepare a systematic academic plan that is effectively implemented throughout the year.

Policy Statement

New Arts, Commerce and Science College strives to be recognized as a premiere educational institute that provides multidisciplinary, inclusive and affordable quality education to needy masses in the vicinity. It does so by excellence in teaching, promotion of research and organization of co-curricular and extension activities in the interest of students.

This quality policy asserts its commitment to become an excellent center of teaching-learning by adopting ICT based pedagogy, augmentation of resources, encouraging faculty and staff to undergo training, introducing career and skill based professional programmes, incorporation of technology in administration and thereby contributing to the socio-economic development of the society. This quality policy ensures excellence in all academic and administrative endeavors.

Quality Policy Implementation

The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell that continuously monitors and effectively works on the vision and mission from page to reality and it also tries to achieve the academic excellence and maintain quality culture that is promised in policy statement, with the help of UGC guidelines.

Composition of IQAC

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college is primarily focused in internal quality. The University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) have laid the onus of quality enhancement of colleges on the IQAC. The primary objective, thus, of the IQAC is to look into rather than at the college processes with a perspective of providing quality to all stakeholders.

Functions of IQAC

  1. To work for the development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters/templates for the various academic and administrative activities of the College and also prepare a manual and make it available to everyone.
  2. To arrange meetings and communicate for improving quality in education with management, administration, IQAC members, Criteria chairmen and stakeholders.
  3. To create learner-centric atmosphere to maintain quality of education in the college.
  4. To organise Seminars, workshops, Webinars and various Training Programmes for students and faculty.
  5. To provide crucial information of various quality parameters of higher education that is required for the college.
  6. To collect, analyse feedback received from every stakeholder and take necessary action.
  7. Give suggestions for organizing quality enhancement activities for the students.
  8. Collect all necessary documents of various activities of the college, leading to quality improvement.
  9. Prepare AQAR regularly and submit it to quality assurance body NAAC.
